Our first stop was LaMáquina, where we attended a hands-on course on parametric modeling with Rhinoceros and robotic 3D printing. Here, participants explored the entire workflow, from digital design to toolpath generation, through to print execution on robotic arm systems. A full immersion in advanced fabrication applied to contemporary design.
We then moved on to IAAC – the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia, where we carried out job shadowing activities with the managers of the internal Fab Lab. We had the opportunity to closely observe student projects from different courses and academic years, engaging with multidisciplinary design approaches and advanced prototyping systems. This experience provided fresh inspiration for integrating design, sustainability, and innovation into our training programs.
Finally, we concluded the journey at CasaBlau, where we took part in an experimental ceramics workshop combining traditional techniques with 3D printing. During this session, we produced tiles using digitally created molds and jigs, experimenting with the intersection of craftsmanship and digital precision.
